Saborsko
U Saborskom još jedna tužna obljetnica. I tako iz godine u godinu. Vijenci, svijeće, cvijeće. I bol. I presahnule suze. I sjećanje na one kojih više nema ali su zauvijek uzidani u temelje slobode Saborskog. U noći 12. na 13. studenoga, 1991. godine, u mjesto su ušle četničke horde potpomognute zločinačkom JNA, porušili sve do temelja i masakrirali civilno stanovništvo.
Samo Saborčani znaju kroz kakvu su Kalvariju prošli, koje su tuge još u njima i koliko kršćanske snage imaju, da oproste svojim krvnicima. Još nam je u živom sjećanju ona mračna, čudna i sumorna atmosfera iščekivanja u gradu te, 1991. godine. Danima se sa strahom očekivala vijest da je Saborsko palo. Svi smo onda bili s tim ljudima, njihovim strahovima i junaštvom, njihovim patnjama i nadanjima. Pred dva i pol desetljeća, nešto se je strašno događalo u zabitima Kapele, neki su hrabri ljudi, prepušteni sami sebi branili svoja vjekovna ognjišta i komadić hrvatske Domovine. Žene su ostajale bez muževa, majke bez sinova. Saborsko je bilo i ostati će simbol otpora i borbe. Jedan od branitelja se prisjeća:
" Na današnji dan (12.11.1991.) „komšije“ iz Ličke jesenice i Plaškog, krenule su u krvavi pohod na Saborsko, gorilo je 500-700 kuća, gospodarski objekti, gorile su dvije crkve, gorila su groblja. Sve je gorilo što se je moglo spaliti. Počelo je u 9,oo sati, vrijeme je bilo slično današnjem. Bio je paklenski pritisak. Svi smo osjećali da će se to dogodit. Oni koji su ostali nakon upada četničkih i jugoslavenskih snaga u Saborsko, civili, oni koji nisu nosili puške i koji su vjerovali tzv. Jugoslavenskoj armiji, ubijeni su. Njih 58. Poginulo je i 15 branitelja a 150 ih je ranjeno. Mjesto je sravnjeno sa zemljom.“
Godine su prošle su od tog tragičnog događaja. I crkva, i kuće, i škola - sve je ponovno tu. Sve je izgrađeno. Samo nekih nema. Otišli su da bi djeca živjela u slobodi i miru. Samo je u srcima ljudi ostala bol, ona tiha i neizmjerna bol koja nikad ne prolazi. Ostale su tuge, ostale su crne marame. Saborsko tuguje i pamti.
