Ogulin je posjetila brojna delegacija stručnjaka, vezanih uz projekt zaštite grada od poplave. U delegaciji su bili predstavnici Hrvatskih voda - Sektor za projekte sufinancirane sredstvima EU, zatim predstavnici Europskog fonda regionalnog razvoja, tvrtke Hidroing koja se bavi projektiranjem, nadzorom, konzaltingom i inženjeringom u području vodnog gospodarstva, te kontrolori Europske komisije.
Obišli su lokaciju buduće retencije Ogulin, lokaciju preljevne građevine i samog nasipa, branu Bukovnik i Đulin ponor. Nakon što su pregledali kompletan teren te projekt, izrazili su zadovoljstvo do sada učinjenim. Kao što je poznato, sve će se financirati iz EU fondova a dok se to ne provede, Hrvatske vode će „uskočiti“ financiranjem iz svojih sredstava, što će kasnije refundirati.
A kada već spominjem Đulin ponor, ne mogu zaobići, u najmanju ruku traljavo izveden posao oko čišćenja ponora. Radovi su pompozno najavljeni. Došao direktor Hrvatskih voda Đuroković, došao župan Jelić, tu je bilo i kompletno gradsko rukovodstvo, kolege novinari. Obavljeno fotkanje, ljudi se pentrali po kamenju u ponoru, onda su „dobrantali“ veliku dizalicu i spustili kontejner u korito Dobre. Zatvorena je kod Frankopanske kule i cesta od 7,oo do 17,oo sati a vozači su upućeni na alternativne pravce. Drugi dan tajanstveno je nestao kamion i golema dizalica a treći dan više nije bilo ni radnika. Sve je bilo lijepo zamišljeno ali realizacija je bila - prava smijurina. Gdje je zapelo, pojma nemam. Prema najavi, radovi će se nastaviti nakon što se dovrši remont u HE Gojak, koji bi trebao, po riječima direktora Milana Sabljaka, biti gotov do kraja ovog mjeseca. Nadam se da će se do tada smisliti neki unčikovitiji način vađenja otpada iz ponora, jer ovakva predstava s jednim kontejnerom, koju smo imali prilike gledati, neće donijeti rezultata. Radovi na čišćenju ponora u ovoj prvoj etapi, stajati će dva milijuna kuna.
